Job summary

Hydrogen Group in Sydney is seeking an experienced Mobile Quality Engineer to join a financial services client on an initial 6-month contract.

You will design, build and maintain automated testing solutions for mobile apps, collaborate with developers, analysts and delivery teams, and drive test automation as a core capability across the technology landscape while ensuring regulatory, security and compliance requirements for superannuation and financial services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing mobile automation frameworks from scratch.
• Hands‑on experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium, XCUITest or Espresso.
• Programming experience in Java, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience setting up CI/CD with tools such as Jenkins or similar.
• Any exp with BrowserStack, Auth & APIs beneficial.
• Experience testing APIs using tools such as RestAssured, Postman, or equivalent beneficial.
• Knowledge of cloud native environments.

Responsibilities

• Design mobile automation framework from scratch for iOS & Android.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable releases.
• Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with delivery teams to resolve issues.
• Promote best practices in test automation, test data management, and environment stability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing tools, frameworks, and processes.
• Ensure testing aligns with regulatory, security, and compliance requirements relevant to superannuation and financial services.

The Role

You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of digital products and platforms. Working closely with developers, business analysts, and delivery teams, you will design, build, and maintain automated testing solutions that support agile delivery model and member-first mindset.

You will be responsible for embedding quality practices early in the development lifecycle and driving test automation as a core capability across the technology landscape.
