Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia in Echuca seeks Ambulance Transport Attendants (Casual) to deliver dignified non-emergency transport with a patient-first approach. You will cover on-road care, assessments and attentive service across Victoria and parts of NSW, supporting a wide fleet and aeromedical teams.

Required qualifications include Diploma/ Bachelor degrees in ambulance or health fields, valid licenses, and willingness to work variable 10–12 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree qualifications for ambulance/paramedic roles.
• Clinical placements and clinical skills assessment for Diploma-qualified.
• Availability to work 10- and 12-hour shifts across 7 days.
• Current Full Driver's Licence and safety checks required.
• Experience in NEPT sector desirable but not essential.

Base Hourly Rate $33.81 - $40.54 plus 25% casual loading, penalties, allowances, super & salary packaging.

About the Program

Mobile Patient Care (MPC) offers Non-EMergency Patient Transport across Victoria and some areas of New South Wales. We work with a large fleet of ambulances and support our transport services with RFDS aircraft. MPC provides clinical care for people travelling from home to hospital, hospital to hospital and hospital to home, as well as transport to and from specialist clinics.

About the Role

As an ATA, you will deliver high-quality, dignified, and patient-focused care, ensuring the efficient and effective transport of non-emergency pre- and post-hospital patients. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the comfort and respect of each patient throughout their journey.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessment and intervention on-road
• Provide high quality patient care and treatment during on-road transport
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients and stakeholders
• Perform independently and problem solve within established policies and procedures
• Work collaboratively with other team members

To be successful, you will need

• A Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance), or Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic), or Bachelor of Nursing (with AHPRA registered nurse registration), or other equivalent qualification for Ambulance Officers recognized by RFDS or DHHS
• For Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) qualified – evidence of successful completion of required clinical placements and a Clinical Skills Assessment, completion of a minimum of 400 hours operational experience under the direct supervision of a clinical instructor, and successful completion of a clinical skills assessment
• Availability to work 10 and 12-hour shifts across 7 days
• Ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions
• Compassionate, professional, and dedicated to providing excellent service
• Experience working in the NEPT sector in an equal role desirable but not essential
• Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Full Drivers Licence, Working with Children's Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia
