Job summary

BlueScope is seeking a Mobile Mill Technician to join the National Operations and Supply Chain team in Gillman, SA. This full-time role involves hands-on operation and maintenance of a Mobile Mill, travelling to customer sites across Australia to manufacture long-length steel roofing products on site.

You will set up, run, and troubleshoot equipment, coordinate coil deliveries, perform quality checks, and maintain safety and project standards while building strong relationships with customers

Qualifications

• Hands-on production/manufacturing experience
• Good mechanical aptitude and basic fitting knowledge
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer engagement skills
• Safety-focused with quality emphasis
• Mechanical or electrical trade background advantageous, but not essential
• Willingness to travel across Australia
• Ability to obtain Police Clearance and Working with Children checks
• Current White Card and forklift license or willingness to obtain them

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Mobile Mill and related equipment
• Prepare equipment and coordinate coil deliveries for production
• Fabricate long-length steel roofing products on customer sites
• Conduct quality checks throughout production
• Perform routine maintenance and basic mechanical adjustments
• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues to keep projects moving
• Pack down equipment at project completion
• Work safely across diverse customer and construction environments
• Build positive relationships with customers, builders and installers
• Spend time communicating directly with customers and site contacts
