Job summary

BlueScope Building Components operates a Mobile Mill that travels to customer sites across Australia to manufacture long-length steel roofing products on site. This role combines hands-on operation, maintenance, and direct customer interaction, with travel as part of a dedicated team.

You’ll work in Gillman, SA, Monday to Friday, 6:30 am - 2:30 pm, supporting projects from setup to pack-down while ensuring safety and quality across diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production or manufacturing experience.
• Basic fitting/mechanical knowledge.
• Good communication with customers.
• Strong focus on safety and quality.
• Willingness to travel across Australia.
• Ability to obtain Police Clearance and Working with Children clearance.
• Current White Card and forklift license or willingness to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Mobile Mill and related equipment.
• Prepare equipment and coordinate coil deliveries.
• Manufacture long-length steel roofing products on site.
• Perform quality checks during production.
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic mechanical adjustments.
• Troubleshoot equipment to keep projects moving.
• Pack down equipment at project completion.
• Work safely across varied environments.
• Build relationships with customers, builders, installers.
