Job summary

Sandvik Mining in Bendigo, VIC, seeks a Fire Suppression Technician to install, service and diagnose fire suppression systems on mining equipment. Based from Bendigo, you will travel to sites across the state and into NSW to support local contracts, on a 9-day fortnight roster with weekend and remote travel premiums.

Qualifications

• Accreditation by the Fire Protection Association (FPA) is desirable.
• Valid Driver’s License is compulsory.
• Highly motivated with prior trade experience is a must.
• Service experience with Mobile Fire Suppression systems is advantageous.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Flexible to work with customer requirements, procedures, and safety policies.
• Positive attitude with determination to achieve targets for customer satisfaction.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol test.
• High attention to detail and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform fault diagnosis, maintain, and install Fire Suppression systems.
• Identify faults in electrical and mechanical configurations of mobile suppression systems.
• Maintain inspection test reports and documentation.
• Support technicians from other regions and assist in training.
• Adhere to all policies & procedures, especially EHS policies.
• Work effectively in a team or autonomously.
• Assist with machine audits/inspections.
