Job summary

7-Eleven Australia is seeking an experienced MLOps Engineer to deploy, operate and maintain machine learning and AI solutions in production. You will bridge model development and production by implementing reliable deployment, monitoring, and operational processes with Data Scientists and Engineering teams.

The role focuses on operationalising our Databricks-based engine and expanding a portfolio of predictive modelling, optimisation, and AI use cases across the business.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience deploying data science solutions in production.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with PySpark in distributed data environments.
• Experience with Databricks and MLflow in production settings.
• CI/CD and software engineering practices for data/ML apps, ideally Azure DevOps.
• Ability to set up unit/integration tests in AI/ML projects.
• Knowledge of data processing performance tuning and governance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Science to move models from experimentation to production.
• Build and maintain production workflows for data ingestion, processing, and deployment.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and controlled release for ML workloads.
• Create robust data and feature pipelines for ML/AI solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues with data, model, and platform teams.
• Implement access controls and governance for AI agents and automated systems.
• Support Generative AI initiatives, including LLMs, RAG, and evolving use cases.
• Contribute to reusable MLOps templates and tooling.
• Help establish best practices and state-of-the-art tooling for production.
• Optimize Databricks usage and cloud infrastructure performance.
