Job summary

CuspAI is hiring a Platform Engineer in Australia to design and maintain the ML infrastructure platform, enabling researchers to train and deploy models at scale on Kubernetes across multi-cloud environments. You will own the MLOps stack, implement CI/CD pipelines, model registries, and deployment automation, and ensure robust, scalable systems for cutting-edge experiments.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in building and maintaining ML infrastructure (not model development).
• Experience with Kubernetes and multi-cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Strong Python and/or Go for infrastructure automation.
• IaC using Terraform, Helm, Kapitan, and GitOps workflows.
• Experience with distributed ML platforms (JAX/PyTorch).
• GPU clusters management and performance optimization.
• Background as Software Engineer or regular coding.

Responsibilities

• Build the ML infrastructure platform on Kubernetes to enable researchers to train, evaluate, and deploy models.
• Own the MLOps stack: CI/CD, model registries, experiment tracking, deployment automation.
• Scale distributed ML model training across GPUs with data pipelines and optimization.
• Ensure 99.9% uptime with monitoring, alerts and automated recovery.
• Manage multi-environment Kubernetes configs using Kapitan.
• Optimize cloud spend while maximizing throughput.
• Improve developer experience for researchers moving from experiment to production.
• Collaborate with ML Researchers, Chemists, Materials Scientists, and Software Engineers.
