Job summary

BAI Communications is seeking an Electrical Engineer to deliver reliable power systems and building services for Australia’s broadcast network. You’ll work on site from design through commissioning, upgrading switchboards, distribution and standby power, and integrating renewable energy solutions to enhance resilience.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years’ experience, and strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering aligned with Engineers Australia
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and electrical standards
Experience with switchboards, UPS, generators, metering and protection systems
Hands-on experience with standby power and renewable energy integration
Familiarity with AutoCAD; PowerCAD or similar design tools advantageous

Responsibilities

Design and specify electrical infrastructure systems supporting broadcast operations
Provide engineering support from concept to commissioning
Conduct testing, commissioning and acceptance activities
Review designs for compliance with Australian standards and operational requirements
Support asset lifecycle strategies including maintenance, upgrades, and risk identification
Liaise with supply authorities and external stakeholders to deliver projects effectively
Investigate network issues and provide technical solutions to field teams
Undertake site inspections across facilities and operational environments
Contribute to continuous improvement through adoption of new technologies and practices
