Glencore's Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) seeks an experienced Mining Superintendent – Drill & Blast to lead drilling, blasting and contractor activities. This role reports to the Mining Manager and operates Monday–Friday dayshift, guiding Supervisors, Employees and Contractors to achieve production targets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication and a track record in operational leadership within mining.

Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.
An opportunity exists for an experienced and committed Mining Superintendent – Drill and Blast at MGO. Reporting to the Mining Manager this position is Monday to Friday, dayshift only and is accountable for leading MGO’s high performing work teams (including Supervisors, Employees and Contractors).
Your ability to drive for results, effectively communicate and lead a team is paramount. This position requires multitasking and the following of all policies and procedures implemented and maintained in accordance with the Glencore Management Framework.
The requirements for success in this role include:
Previous experience in operational leadership roles that will enable you to confidently liaise and influence a diverse range employees and senior leaders within the business.
Proven experience managing key operational activities including drilling, blasting and contractor management.
Mining Superintendent or Supervisor experience specifically in: Drill & Blast and/or Production
Current NSW Explosive Security Clearance (desirable).
Current Mining Engineering Manager Practicing Certificate (desirable).
Computer literacy is key to enable you to have the ability to measure, record and analyse reporting on safety, people and productivity activities to consistently exceed plan and improve performance.
