Job summary

Glencore's Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) in the Hunter Valley, NSW, seeks a motivated Mining Engineer to join the Technical Services Team. The role can focus on Short-Term Planning or Drill and Blast, collaborating with the Mining Department to translate plans into practical outcomes.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will design truck/excavator plans, schedules and assist with safety and continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining/Civil or related field).
• Proficient with Mine design and Scheduling packages (such as Vulcan, Deswik and Spry).
• Minimum two year’s relevant experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• In Short-Term Planning you will be responsible for the creation of Truck & Excavator designs and schedules along with short term planning and designing across our operation.
• Alternatively, in Drill and Blast you will support the planning, design and execution of drill and blast activities across the operation.

Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced Mining Engineer at MGO as a key member of our Technical Services Team. We are open to applicants with experience in either Short-Term Planning or Drill and Blast, offering the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic mining operation while working closely with the MGO Mining Department and other operational teams.

The requirements for success in this role include:
