Job summary

Komatsu Australia is seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic or Heavy‑Duty Diesel Fitter to join our Batchfire, Callide Mine site team. You’ll be on the tools maintaining, diagnosing and repairing Komatsu mining equipment and providing hands-on support directly to the customer.

You’ll work with a crew to keep machines moving, uphold safety and quality, and identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices on site.

Qualifications

• Formal Mechanical Trade Qualification required.
• Experience with heavy mining equipment advantageous.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to safety and high workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining safety, workmanship and equipment reliability.
• Carrying out planned maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on Komatsu mining equipment.
• Troubleshooting faults and recording results accurately.
• Responding to equipment issues and minimizing downtime with the site team.
• Interpreting oil sample results and equipment notifications.
• Collaborating with maintenance planners, supervisors and customer crews.
• Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes.
