Epiroc is seeking a hands-on Field Tech Support professional to service and repair mineral logging and survey equipment across remote Pilbara mine sites on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth. You will diagnose, repair, and upgrade field equipment while mentoring junior technicians and ensuring safety and uptime.

Qualifications

• Certificate III (or higher) in Electronics, Electrical, or related trade qualification.
• Unrestricted Manual C Class Driver's Licence.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting experience.
• Experience in electrical/electronic control systems (installation and maintenance).
• Exposure to PLCs, instrumentation, automation, or CAN systems (desirable).
• Experience with mining, logging, or heavy mobile equipment (advantageous).
• Strong computer skills and ability to maintain digital maintenance records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote field team.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and time management skills.
• Physically fit and able to pass a functional capability assessment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation systems on field equipment.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system specifications.
• Install, test, and commission equipment upgrades and system improvements.
• Provide on-site technical support at client mine sites, including breakdown response and fault rectification.
• Deliver training and mentoring to junior technicians and field operators.
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and clients to ensure efficient service delivery and reduced downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update systems (e.g. MEX).
• Manage spare parts usage and support inventory control.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including reliability and process enhancements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and quality standards.
