Job summary

Glencore's Mt Owen/Glendell Operations is seeking a Mining Engineer to join the Technical Services Team. The role covers Short-Term Planning or Drill and Blast, designing truck and excavator plans and coordinating with the Mining Department to implement practical solutions.

You will work in a safety-focused culture with opportunities for learning, training and development, and a permanent full-time position on a dayshift roster in the Hunter Valley region.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining/Civil or related field).
• Proficient with Mine design and Scheduling packages (such as Vulcan, Deswik and Spry).
• Minimum two year’s relevant experience (desirable).
• Ability to effectively communicate across various levels of an organisation
• Self-motivated and forward-thinking team member
• Committed to fostering a culture driven by safety and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Create Truck & Excavator designs and schedules for Short-Term Planning.
• Support the planning, design and execution of drill and blast activities.
• Collaborate with the Mining Department and other operational teams to translate plans into practical outcomes.
