Job summary

Regis Resources is a Western Australian gold producer operating a large-scale portfolio of open pit and underground mines, with the Duketon operation in WA and a strong development pipeline across Australia.

This Mining Engineer (Open Pit) role focuses on mine planning, technical support and operational guidance to safely deliver open pit production. The FIFO roster is 8:6, from Perth, with a clear pathway for professional growth within a high-performance team.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
  • Open pit mining experience, ideally within hard rock gold operations.
  • Strong understanding of open pit mining methods, drill & blast, and mine design principles.
  • Experience using mining software such as Deswik and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of geotechnical and hydrogeological considerations in mine planning.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive approach to safety, hazard identification, and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update rolling 3-month mine schedules and ensure timely delivery to the mining contractor.
  • Contribute and implement bench by bench planning and sequencing to optimise grade and production.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure ore dilution is minimised in mining execution.
  • Monitor contractor performance against plan and report deviations to senior stakeholders.
  • Review and optimise drill & blast designs and performance.
  • Track explosives usage, powder factors, and consumables against budget.
  • Review and refine pit, dump and haul road designs, incorporating geotechnical and dewatering considerations.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement and optimisation projects.
  • Support alignment between mining activities and production forecasts and budgets.
  • Contribute to end-of-month reporting and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with geology, processing, maintenance, and contractor teams to deliver integrated outcomes.

Job Description
The opportunity

We are currently looking for a Mining Engineer (Open Pit) to join the team at our Duketon operation.

In this role, you will provide mine planning, technical support, and operational guidance to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of open pit production outcomes. Working closely with the mining contractor and internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in short-term planning, drill & blast optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a FIFO role (8:6 roster) from Perth.
