Job summary

Ramelius Resources Limited is seeking an experienced Underground Mining Engineer for the Mt Magnet Galaxy underground operation. The role involves designing and optimising drill and blast, developing plans, and delivering safe, efficient outcomes on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth.

You will work across multiple fronts with a focus on ore recovery, grade control and collaboration with geology, planning and production teams to drive performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering and relevant mining experience.
• Experience in underground mine design, including development and production.
• Deswik experience and knowledge of mining legislation and safety requirements.
• WA Class C Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver drill, blast and underground designs that maximise value and ore recovery.
• Lead drill and blast activities across multiple stoping fronts with safe execution.
• Contribute to mine planning and scheduling to support safe production.
• Optimise designs to maximise grade while minimising dilution.
• Monitor performance and report operational data to identify improvements.
• Collaborate with Geology, Planning, Production and contractors to achieve outcomes.
• Support safety culture and contractor management across the operation.

About The Role

We have a permanent Mining Engineer opportunity on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth based at our Mt Magnet - Galaxy underground. Reporting to the Alternate Underground Manager you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and value-focused underground mining outcomes. You’ll combine practical field involvement with technical design and planning, working across multiple stoping fronts to optimise production, ore recovery and operational performance.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Deliver drill, blast and underground designs that maximise value, productivity and ore recovery.
• Lead drill and blast activities across multiple stoping fronts, ensuring safe and effective execution.
• Contribute to mine planning and scheduling to support safe, compliant and efficient production.
• Optimise designs to maximise grade and recovery while minimising dilution.
• Monitor production performance, reporting and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Geology, Planning, Production and contractors to deliver mining outcomes.
• Support team capability, contractor management and a strong safety culture across the operation.
• Assist with paste and fill notes, ventilation requirements and other technical mining activities.

About You

You are an experienced Underground Mining Engineer with a strong commitment to safety, accuracy and continuous improvement. You enjoy working collaboratively with operational teams and take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes that support efficient mining operations.

You’ll Ideally Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering and relevant mining experience.
• Experience across underground mine design, including lateral and vertical development and production.
• Strong drill and blast design capability, with Deswik experience highly regarded.
• Sound knowledge and practical application of mining legislation and safety requirements.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills with a proactive approach.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
