Job summary

Stanmore Resources, an Australian mining company, seeks a Mining Engineer at South Walker Creek to provide drilling and blasting technical support. You will join a high-performing planning team, creating drill patterns and load/tie-in designs while coordinating blasting in line with budgets and production targets.

You will monitor blasting performance, perform QA/QC, and analyse fragmentation and loss/dilution. Strong communication and safety performance are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a mining engineering team.
• Experience with Vulcan and BlastLogic software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Create drill patterns, loading and tie-in designs.
• Coordinate drill and blast to maintain blast inventory and meet mining rates in line with budget.
• Monitor and reconcile drilling and blasting performance including QA/QC, fragmentation analysis and dilution.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement projects and trials.
• Assist with daily production planning.
• Provide accurate technical analysis.
• Uphold safety and ensure compliance with environmental management.

We are currently looking for a Mining Engineer based at our South Walker Creek mine reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent. You will join a team of high performing planning engineers to provide drill and blast technical support at South Walker Creek.

• Be responsible for the creation of drill patterns, loading and tie-in designs
• Coordinate drill and blast to ensure blast inventory is maintained to achieve mining rates in line with budget
• Monitor and reconcile drilling and blasting performance including data QA/QC, fragmentation analysis and loss and dilution from blasting
• Develop and implement continuous improvement projects and trials
• Assist with daily production planning
• Provide accurate technical analysis
• Uphold safety and contribute to activities that ensure continued compliance with environmental management

To set you up for success, we expect you will have:

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a Mining Engineering team
• Experience with relevant software including Vulcan and BlastLogic
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
