Job summary

Fortescue is seeking a Roller Technician at Cloudbreak, WA, to maintain and align conveyor rollers, ensuring safe operation of conveyor systems. The role is FIFO from Perth with a 7D/7N/14R roster and travel to remote Western Australia sites.

You will inspect, replace, and fault diagnose idler sets, support maintenance shutdowns, and work with teams to improve reliability while prioritising safety and site procedures.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical trade or equivalent experience.
• Proven conveyors/idler systems fault-finding skills.
• Mining or heavy industry experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and replace conveyor rollers (idler sets).
• Identify and rectify seized, damaged or misaligned rollers.
• Maintain roller frames, stands and related components.
• Perform preventative maintenance on conveyor roller systems.
