Job summary

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development NSW – Orange NSW is seeking an Inspector of Mines Explosives to join the NSW Resources Regulator. The role safeguards health and safety across NSW mining, applies risk-based assessments, conducts inspections, and enforces compliance.

You will travel to mine sites across NSW, engage with operators and workers, and provide evidence-based guidance to improve safety performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in handling explosives in mining contexts.
• Strong knowledge of mining health and safety legislation and standards.
• Proven ability to assess risk, perform inspections, and investigate incidents.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information and influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess risk across mining operations; plan and conduct inspections.
• Investigate incidents and support enforcement actions.
