Job summary

WSP is seeking a Surface Water Engineer (Associate to Senior Associate) to join our National Geo‑Environment team in Australia. You’ll work on flood resilience, hydrology, hydraulics, and climate adaptation across national and international projects.

With 8+ years in water resources, you’ll lead multidisciplinary projects, deliver robust models and design packages, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative environment. This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in water resources or surface water engineering.
• Strong background in stormwater management and hydraulic modelling.
• Experience delivering flooding, drainage, or water quality assessments.
• Proficiency with GIS/CAD tools and reporting.
• Professional certification (CPEng) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver surface water assessments, hydrological and hydraulic models for diverse projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams from planning to detailed design with client engagement.
• Prepare and review technical reports and design packages for water infrastructure.
• Develop innovative flood resilience and climate adaptation approaches.
• Mentor junior engineers within a collaborative team.
