Job summary
Alcoa Australia is seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join the Willowdale Mine in Western Australia. The role reports to the Short Term Planning Superintendent and follows a Monday to Friday roster.
You will be responsible for mine geology, grade control, and geological modelling to optimise ore recovery. Leadership responsibilities include guiding Mine Geologists and Grade Controllers while ensuring safe, compliant operations.
Qualifications
- Degree in Geology, Earth Science or a related discipline.
- Significant direct experience in mineral exploration, mine geology, ore design and grade control.
- Experience using geological/mining software, preferably Vulcan or MineSight.
- Ability to take ownership of work and produce clear, concise technical reports.
Responsibilities
- Plan infill drilling and maintain grade control models.
- Support safe, environmentally responsible work practices and data reporting.
- Provide technical leadership across geological modelling and ore design.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimise ore recovery and reconcile results.
- Maintain and update geological databases and models.
