Job summary

Perilya Limited is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer for the Broken Hill Underground Mine to drive planning excellence across short, medium, and long term horizons.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with geology, production and operations teams, and contribute to life-of-mine planning and continuous improvement while upholding Perilya’s safety and values.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Mining Engineering with demonstrated experience in underground hard rock mining. Exposure to lead, zinc, or base metals is highly regarded.
  • Strong skills in mine design, scheduling, and optimisation, with proficiency in Deswik, Vulcan, or similar planning software.
  • Ability to analyse complex technical challenges, identify opportunities, and deliver practical, innovative solutions that improve performance and safety.
  • Experience contributing to life-of-mine planning, reserve optimisation, and strategic decision-making.
  • A commitment to zero harm, continuous improvement, and upholding Perilya’s values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and respect.

Role Details
Perilya is seeking an experienced Mine Planning Engineer to join our team at the Broken Hill Underground Mine, one of Australia’s most iconic and long‑standing mining operations.

As a member of the Technical Services team, you will play a key role in driving mine planning excellence, supporting operational success, and mentoring a talented group of engineers.

What You’ll Be Doing

Ensuring timely delivery of short, medium, and long‑term plans.
