Job summary

Thiess is seeking a Mine Control Supervisor for Olive Downs Complex, located near Moranbah, QLD. You will lead the Autonomous Haulage System team on a 7/7 dayshift/nightshift roster, reporting to the Superintendent Mine Control.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration and continuous improvement across mine control operations. Key responsibilities include steering the AHS Mining team, promoting a safe culture, and coordinating with maintenance and production to optimise performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated team leadership in a mining environment.
• Experience adapting to dynamic environments with Autonomous Haulage Systems such as Minestar Command and/or Komatsu FrontRunner.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operations methods.
• Excellent time management and communication across maintenance and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to the AHS Mining team and implement culture-focused safety strategies.
• Foster collaborative relationships across operation and support functions per Site Establishment and SHMS.
• Drive KPI-focused improvement actions in safety, utilization, productivity and reliability.
• Maintain an up-to-date business continuity plan for Mine Control.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and Site Safety Management Systems compliance.
