Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Australia is seeking experienced testers to support pre- and post-migration validation across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will engage with business and IT stakeholders, analyze requirements, and manage test cases in JIRA, ensuring smooth migrations and defect closure.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, collaboration, and adherence to migration timelines within a global technology services context.

Qualifications

• Strong testing and test management experience.
• Experience with migration across on-prem, cloud, mainframe upgrades or technical debt remediation.
• Basic understanding of server specs, DNS, firewall, networking, load balancers and proxies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workshops with business and IT stakeholders.
• Analyse JIRA requirements and write test cases.
• Gather and update test details from application and technical teams.
• Upload and manage test cases in JIRA.
• Plan and execute pre-migration TVT testing.
• Perform TVT testing on migration day.
• Coordinate with business users and IT teams for PVT testing.
• Compare pre- and post-migration test results.
• Log defects in JIRA and track to closure.

Job Description:

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong Testing & Test Management Experience
• Experience working in any Infrastructure Migration (On Prem to On Prem, On Prem to Cloud, Cloud to Cloud, Mainframe Migration, Mainframe Upgrade, Technical Debt Remediation etc.)
• Basic understanding of Server Specification, DNS, Firewall, Network flow, Load Balancer, Proxy etc.
• Must be able to read, understand Technical Requirements and Technical Design Documents and inference testing needs from them.
• Has to be hands‑on.
• Knowledge on Jira/Qmetery

Responsibilities:

• Conduct workshops to engage business and IT stakeholders
• Analyse JIRA requirements and write test cases
• Gather and update test details from application teams and technical teams (test cases, environments, timelines, owners)
• Upload and manage test cases in JIRA
• Plan and execute pre‑migration TVT testing 7 days before migration
• Perform TVT testing on the day of migration
• Coordinate with business users and BAU IT teams for PVT testing
• Compare pre‑and post‑migration test results
• Log defects in JIRA and track them to closure
