Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Australia seeks an experienced Performance Testing Engineer to design and execute robust performance test strategies across applications, middleware and databases. You will build and maintain Gatling/JMeter scripts, analyze bottlenecks, and collaborate with Developers, QA, and DevOps to ensure performance requirements are met.

The role emphasizes strong scripting, Dynatrace/AppDynamics exposure, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Performance Testing / Performance Engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with Gatling and/or JMeter.
• Strong scripting skills in Python.
• Experience with Dynatrace and AppDynamics.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.
• Ability to analyse performance metrics and identify bottlenecks.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and execute performance test strategies and test plans.
• Develop and maintain performance test scripts using Gatling and JMeter.
• Analyse application, infrastructure, and database performance bottlenecks.
• Monitor system behaviour using APM tools such as Dynatrace and AppDynamics.
• Investigate performance issues and provide tuning recommendations.
• Create automated performance testing solutions and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop utility scripts and automation using Python and Shell Scripting.
• Produce performance test reports with clear recommendations and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with Developers, Architects, Business Analysts, and Test Teams to ensure performance requirements are understood and validated.
• Support performance testing activities across multiple projects and environments.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Performance Testing / Performance Engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with Gatling and/or JMeter.
• Strong experience with APM and monitoring tools:
• Dynatrace
• AppDynamics
• Strong scripting skills in:
• Python
• Experience analysing performance metrics including:
• Response times
• Throughput
• Experience identifying and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks across application, middleware, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Strong stakeholder communication and reporting skills.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Good to Have :

• Experience within financial services, trading, clearing, settlement, or other high volume transaction systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with cloud-based environments.
• SQL and database performance analysis skills.
• Understanding of observability and monitoring practices.
