Job summary

FinXL is seeking a Senior Test Lead to join our Testing Practice and be deployed with a leading Banking client on a 6+ months contract in Norwest. This role combines hands-on test management with strategic leadership across infrastructure migration initiatives and enterprise-scale testing across data centres.

The ideal candidate will oversee end-to-end testing, manage defects and governance using JIRA/QMetry, and mentor testing personnel while aligning with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading quality delivery on enterprise IT infrastructure and migrations.
• Experience with performance, failover and security testing.
• Proven leadership of testing teams and governance.
• Ability to manage testing across multiple data centres and environments.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end assurance activities, schedules, and milestones across multiple workstreams.
• Establish quality frameworks, execution strategies, and streamlined defect workflows.
• Identify risks and cross-project dependencies, driving mitigation strategies.
• Serve as primary operational link between technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure timely access to test environments, data sets, and infrastructure support.
• Mentor and review testing personnel, step in as Test Manager delegate when needed.
• Track execution metrics and present status updates for go/no-go decisions.

FinXL is seeking a Senior Test Lead to join our Testing Practice and be deployed with a leading Banking client on a 6+ months contract in Norwest. This role combines deep hands-on test management expertise with strategic leadership across a major infrastructure and network uplift initiative. You will be leading functional and non-functional testing to ensure a seamless replacement and consolidation of core infrastructure across multiple data centres.

Responsibilities

• Oversee comprehensive end-to-end assurance activities, schedules, and key delivery milestones across multiple active workstreams.
• Establish robust quality frameworks, overarching execution strategies, and streamlined defect resolution workflows.
• Identify delivery risks, operational bottlenecks, and cross-project dependencies while driving effective mitigation strategies.
• Serve as the primary operational link between technical teams, external vendors, and key business stakeholders.
• Secure timely access to required test environments, data sets, and underlying infrastructure support services.
• Guide, mentor, and review work products for testing personnel while stepping in as Test Manager delegate when required.
• Track execution metrics, evaluate defect trends, and present executive status updates to support go/no-go decisions.

Key Skills & Experience

• Extensive background steering quality delivery on enterprise-scale IT infrastructure and application migration initiatives (IT infra and network).
• Proven expertise structuring functional and non-functional testing across performance, failover, and security domains.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead testing teams, enforce standards, and act as a delegate for senior test management.
• Proficient in managing testing governance, defects, and traceability using tools like JIRA and QMetry.
• Exposure to modern performance and automated testing tools such as JMeter and Playwright is highly regarded.
• Strong track record of managing cross-functional dependencies, environment readiness, and technical risk registers.
• High-level communication capabilities with a track record of effectively influencing and aligning senior stakeholders.

Engagement Details

• 6+ months contract with a Banking client.
• Hybrid working model with 50% in the office in Norwest.
