Job summary

Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Registered Midwives to join a welcoming maternity team across Birthsuite, Antenatal, Postnatal and Special Care Nursery. We offer flexible hours – full time, part time or casual – with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

You’ll work alongside experienced midwives, obstetricians, paediatricians and lactation consultants in a supportive environment focused on high-quality care for women and families.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated recent experience in maternity care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to women and families within the maternity services.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, educators and lactation consultants.
• Participate in Birthsuite, Antenatal, Postnatal and Special Care Nursery areas.
• Maintain professional registration and compliance requirements as a Category A Healthcare worker.

Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, WWCC (where applicable) and Evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2026, a salary ranging from $40 - $56 per hour.
