Job summary

St Thomas More College, Sunnybank, part of Brisbane Catholic Education, is seeking an innovative Middle Leader Curriculum (Pedagogy & Innovation) to drive excellence in teaching and learning across the College.

The role leads curriculum development, supports professional learning, mentors beginning teachers, and collaborates with Senior Leadership to plan future directions. Start Jan 2027; 30 hours/week; full-time continuing position.

Qualifications

• Developed work programs aligned with national, state and local requirements.
• Driving assessment and moderation of new programs.
• Leading and innovating within a curriculum area.
• Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.
• Having responsibility for a financial budget.
• Not required to be Catholic for this position.

Responsibilities

• Leading the overall curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation across the school under the direction of Senior Leadership.
• Applying contemporary learning and teaching research to classroom practice through whole-school professional development and targeted support for teacher improvement.
• Collaborating with Curriculum Leaders, teaching staff, and Senior Leadership to review curriculum frameworks and plan future directions.
• Leading teacher performance through professional dialogue, reflective practice, and formal/informal goal setting and appraisal.
• Staying current with curriculum and pedagogy developments and guiding whole-school professional learning accordingly.
• Providing induction and mentoring for beginning teachers in collaboration with Senior Leadership and Curriculum Leaders.
• Supervising student learning across the school using internal and external data, and implementing strategic interventions.
• Contributing to school leadership through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings.
• Managing financial and material resources within the curriculum area, including budget planning and expenditure.
