Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Staff Specialist in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases for St George Hospital and Sutherland Hospital. The role delivers diagnostic and consultative services, with teaching and research duties, and on‑call coverage as required.

Qualifications

• Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Microbiology and/or Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Infectious Diseases, or other equivalent specialist recognition.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call services in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
• Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities as per the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
