Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Brisbane is seeking a Microbiologist for an immediate start on a full-time casual basis, with the potential for permanency. You will join a busy food and beverage manufacturing site, performing routine microbiological and chemical analyses and environmental monitoring to support quality assurance.

The role requires a degree in Microbiology and strong lab skills, with GMP/HACCP knowledge considered advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Microbiology (or equivalent) with relevant experience in a food manufacturing laboratory.
• Excellent microbiological skills demonstrated in a laboratory setting.
• Knowledge of GMP and HACCP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples of raw materials, in-process and finished products.
• Perform routine chemical and microbiological analyses in a high-volume laboratory.
• Conduct environmental monitoring and testing.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain and clean laboratory equipment.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders in manufacturing and quality assurance to provide feedback in daily meetings.
• Monitor and report results of laboratory tests.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Work within recognised quality frameworks.

About the Company:

Our client is a national food and beverage manufacturer of globally renowned brands. With sites based across Australia, their Brisbane site is seeking a Microbiologist for a full-time casual role with an immediate start! This role is on-going with the possibility of permanent.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Quality Team Manager, the Microbiologist will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Collecting samples of raw materials, in-process and finished products
• Performing routine chemical and microbiological analyses in a high-volume laboratory
• Performing environmental monitoring and testing
• Operating, calibrating, maintaining and cleaning of laboratory equipment
• Liaising with internal stakeholders in manufacturing and quality assurance team providing feedback in the daily meeting
• Monitoring and reporting on results of laboratory tests
• Maintaining a safe working environment
• Working within recognised quality frameworks

Skills & Experience:

To be considered for this role you will have/be able to demonstrate:

• Degree level qualifications in Microbiology (or equivalent) PLUS relevant experience in a food manufacturing laboratory;
• Excellent microbiological skills
• Knowledge of GMP and HACCP is advantageous;
• Ability to accurately monitor and report on results of laboratory tests;
• Ability to lift up to 10kgs;
