Job summary

Far West Local Health District in Broken Hill is seeking a Dietitian Level 2 for a permanent full-time position within NSW Health’s rural health services. The role offers a competitive remuneration aligned with the NSW Health salary band and a 38-hour week.

Remuneration ranges from $98,936 to $113,301 plus super, with generous leave provisions and salary packaging options. Location in Broken Hill provides a vibrant rural community lifestyle while delivering essential public health services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality Dietetic care to the Mental Health Inpatient services in the Broken Hill Health Service, including the Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIPU) and Mental health Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre (MHPARC).
  • Monitor metabolic parameters and social factors that may impact on the client's nutritional status
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge of recovery concepts and principles and commitment to facilitate recovery for consumers
  • Maintain nutritional knowledge and skills in mental health disorders to provide nutritional care which is in line with evidence-based practice
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team, food services, consumers, families and carers to ensure diet plans are suitable and realistic

Job description

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What You’ll Be Doing
