Job summary

JLG is seeking a Workshop Technician to service and repair MEWPs, Telehandlers and Lighting Towers in the workshop and on site in Melbourne. You will evaluate equipment, perform repairs, and assist with apprentice training, while following WHS and environmental policies.

The role requires trade qualifications and experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, plus strong safety and teamwork skills. Baseplan system experience is desirable, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel, automotive, auto electrical, or related field.
• Experience in a similar role with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to read safety information, machine manuals and understand basic numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating equipment performance.
• Inspecting designs and finished products for specifications compliance.
• Installing, testing, servicing, repairing, and modifying electronic, mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Conducting pre-delivery inspections and assessing machines for good working order.
• Repairs and maintenance of customer and JLG MEWP, Lighting Towers and Telehandlers.
• Assist with training and supervision of Apprentices.
• Adhere to site instructions including WHS and Environmental policies.
• Maintain a clean workspace and ensure tools are in good order.
• Complete paperwork and inspection forms per ANZ standards and site requirements.
• Conduct three monthly and annual machine inspections per JLG and ANZ standards.
