Job summary

Powercor in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Meter Technician to join our metering operations team, based at the Brooklyn depot. You will install, test and maintain meters, and rectify metering faults for internal and external customers.

With a can-do attitude, you will help us deliver a safe, reliable and cost-effective power supply while upholding our customer service objectives. A relevant qualification and current refresher training are required.

Qualifications

  • Previous work experience as a Meter Technician.
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, Metering Trade or recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Statement of Attainment for Competency Standard Units (compulsory).
  • Current Refresher Training records (compulsory).
  • Construction Induction Card (compulsory).
  • Car license (compulsory).

Responsibilities

  • Install, test and maintain metering and communication equipment.
  • Investigate and rectify metering faults for internal and external customers.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, timely and cost-effective power supply delivery.
  • Work to meet customer service objectives and company standards.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Meter Technician to join our metering operations team, based at our Brooklyn depot.

As a Meter Technician, you will carry out all work relating to meter installation, testing and maintenance services, investigating and rectifying metering and communication faults, to both internal and external customers installations.

Using your 'can-do' attitude, approachable and personable disposition, you will strive to ensure that we meet company's customer service objectives of providing a safe, reliable, timely and cost-effective supply of electricity and associated services.

This position is covered by the Powercor & CitiPower & CEPU Enterprise Agreement. The salary range for this role is Pay Point 12 ($115,072) - Pay Point 15 ($127,807) + 13% of super + allowances.
