Job summary

Service Stream Limited is hiring a Meter Reader to service Mickleham and surrounding towns, reading utility meters in allocated neighbourhoods. No experience required; we provide on-the-job training and PPE. You will work outdoors, 25–38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with daily travel of up to 45 minutes each way.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate with a reliable vehicle and have a mobile phone.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to field procedures.
• Able to walk, bend and squat for extended periods in outdoor conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and able to work independently or within a team.

Responsibilities

• Accurately read allocated meter routes in a timely and safe manner.
• Upload/download route information to/from hand-held device.
• Maintain safety standards and represent Service Stream professionally.
• Meet targets and work independently or with the team.
• Communicate with the office support team as required.

$34.14 per hour (casual loading inclusive)

Do you enjoy working outdoors in the community, in a role that supports your health and wellbeing? We are looking for someone to join our team as a Meter Reader to service primarily Mickleham and surrounding towns - Kalkallo, Donnybrook, Beveridge. You will walk an allocated neighbourhood taking and recording utility meter readings. No experience is required. Immediate start available. We will teach you everything you need to know.

What you need

Reliable motor vehicle and mobile phone

Ready to learn and able to work on your own

Able to undertake plenty of walking, bending and squatting

Able to work in most weather conditions

Able to work Mon-Fri, 25-38 hours per week

Flexible and comfortable with daily travel of up to, or more than 45 minutes each way

Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good attention to detail is required

Key Responsibilities

Accurately read allocated meter routes in a timely, efficient and safe manner

Uphold the Service Stream safety standards and publicly represent Service Stream and our clients in a professional manner

Understand and ensure targets are met

Ability to work independently but also work with other members of the team

Regularly communicate with office support team

Upload/download route information to/from hand-held device
