Job summary

SPW Fabrication is seeking a practical draftsperson with metalwork installation experience to join our team in Brisbane, Australia. You will measure sites, prepare fabrication drawings and material lists, and assist with installing balustrades, stairs, gates, screens and pergolas to exacting standards.

Working with the fabrication team, you will read architectural drawings, ensure correct fit and finish, and coordinate with builders and site supervisors.

Qualifications

• CAD drafting experience, ideally within metal fabrication.
• Hands-on experience installing aluminium and steel metalwork.
• Understanding of fabrication methods and site fixings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.
• Current driver’s licence and Construction White Card.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site measurements and confirm fixing details.
• Prepare accurate fabrication drawings, material lists and cutting lists.
• Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure jobs fit and install correctly.
• Complete site installations with attention to alignment, finish and quality.
• Coordinate with builders and site supervisors.
