Job summary

Westgold Resources is seeking a Metallurgist to join our team at the Higginsville Operations, near Kambalda, WA. In this hands-on role you will monitor day-to-day performance of the gold processing plant, conduct metallurgical accounting, and support operations to meet production and cost targets.

You will mentor staff, oversee on-site lab operations, and contribute to process improvement projects. A tertiary metallurgy qualification and 2–3 years in mineral processing are essential.

Qualifications

• Current C Class WA driver's licence.
• Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in mineral processing.
• Sound knowledge of processing plant equipment and processes (crushing, milling, gravity, leaching, tailings).
• Experience with online analysis systems (desirable).
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Desire to maintain a proactive safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day performance of the gold processing plant.
• Conduct metallurgical accounting and reconciliation for gold production.
• Ensure production and cost targets achieved and adjust key operating parameters.
• Provide technical support to operations staff and mentor staff.
• Monitor and optimise performance of the MSA and oversee on-site laboratory operations.
• Carry out designated metallurgical test work and assist in budgets and forecasts.
