Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking Drug and Alcohol Clinicians to support recovery and wellness in a rural community. You will work with clients, MDTs, and MERIT participants to provide assessment, case management, and coordinated care plans.

The role requires tertiary qualifications with AHPRA eligibility (RN/OT/Psychologist, or Social Worker/Counsellor/Welfare Officer), excellent communication, and a willingness to travel as needed in a regional setting.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA or eligible for membership (as RN, OT, Psychologist, Social Worker, Counsellor or Welfare Officer).
• Holistic treatment and prevention approaches in alcohol and other drugs with complex needs.
• Experience in case management and treatment options for substance use.
• Liaison with government and non-government services and community groups.
• Leadership in diverse inpatient/outreach settings within a multidisciplinary team or autonomously.
• Strong written and verbal communication; competent computer skills.
• Willingness to drive/travel as required, including long distances and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients in the MERIT program to address drug and alcohol issues.
• Provide assessment, intensive case management, and support within a multidisciplinary team.
• Deliver counseling and treatment to defendants to reduce re-offending and improve health.
