Job summary

Coles Group is seeking a Merchandise Planner to join the Events team and partner with category managers. You will analyze historical performance, interpret trends and support merchandise transformation across the business unit.

You’ll contribute to range planning, event buys, store distribution, and weekly sales forecasting while collaborating with trading, marketing and operations teams. Hybrid options available.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Merchandise Planner to join the Events team where you will partner closely with category managers to provide decision support through analysis of historical performance, interpretation of current and future trends, understanding of marketing and operational initiatives and focus on and be part of the merchandise transformation and BU Support team.

Your day to day will include

• Provide recommendations for trading activity based on interpretation of current and prior performance/historical trends
• In-depth post-event analysis
• SKU quantification for range plans and event buys
• Make recommendations for optimal store distribution
• Determine ideal carton sizes based on planned rate of sale
• Plan weekly sales, and margin-preserving markdowns, for monthly and annual financial projections
• Reporting and analysis of additional trading activity
