Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker for the Community Living Supports (CLS) program in Tuggerah with community outreach. You will provide individualised psychosocial support, working within a recovery model to help clients achieve their goals and improve quality of life in the community.

The role requires at least 12 months experience, Certificate IV in Mental Health or related field, strong documentation skills, and NSW Working with Children Check.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or related field is required.
• At least 12 months relevant experience in the field.
• Experience with mental health challenges and recovery-focused practice.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills, including progress notes.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check and first aid qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred, recovery-focused support to consumers to achieve their goals.
• Develop and monitor recovery plans in partnership with consumers, carers, families and clinicians.
• Encourage personal growth, independence, confidence and belonging.
• Support consumers to develop social, living and vocational skills.
• Promote education, self-care and meaningful community participation.
• Connect consumers with community services, specialists and support networks.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting in line with organisational requirements.
