Job summary

Surf Life Saving NSW is seeking a Member Wellbeing Manager on a full-time, 12-month contract to lead and improve member safety and wellbeing across NSW. You will oversee psychosocial risk management, peer support, critical incident response and wellbeing initiatives, translating policy into practical tools for clubs and leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing psychosocial risk-management frameworks, policies or initiatives.
• Experience in peer support, psychological first aid or post-critical incident support.
• Ability to navigate critical incidents and wellbeing challenges safely and appropriately.
• Experience translating policy and legislation into practical operational approaches.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence volunteers and leaders.
• Experience leading continuous improvement and applying evaluation insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including handling sensitive conversations.

Responsibilities

• Lead psychosocial safety policy and risk-management approach.
• Identify, report and manage psychosocial hazards and risks.
• Translate legislation into practical tools for members and club leaders.
• Support return-to-duties and worker compensation frameworks.
• Oversee Peer Support Program and wellbeing initiatives.
• Strengthen critical incident response frameworks and referral pathways.
• Coordinate wellbeing resources for members around critical incidents.
• Build relationships with clubs, emergency services and wellbeing providers.
• Deliver training to build psychosocial safety capabilities.
• Evaluate wellbeing initiatives and improve programs and systems.
• Provide leadership to direct reports and represent SLSNSW externally.
