Job summary

IDE is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to drive innovation, product development and commercialisation of medical devices. You will work with designers, electronics engineers, software engineers and quality specialists to solve complex challenges and deliver meaningful outcomes for clients.

This role covers the full product development lifecycle, from concept through verification and manufacture, with exposure to multiple technologies and regulatory environments across Australia, the USA and Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biomedical/Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in new product development or product engineering.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of DFMA and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve biomedical systems and devices across product lifecycle.
• Apply regulatory standards (ISO 13485) to ensure compliance and safety.
• Conduct material selection and biocompatibility studies as needed.
• Utilise 3D CAD modeling and prototyping; create functional prototypes.
• Perform verification testing and stakeholder validation to optimise performance.
• Contribute to design reviews and technical approvals.
