Job summary

National Capital Health – Queanbeyan is seeking a friendly receptionist to support patients and clinicians, handling bookings, enquiries and payments with professionalism. The role emphasises accuracy, privacy and a welcoming environment for all visitors.

This position offers both part-time and full-time options, with Saturday rosters possible. You will work closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams, and training for ECGs is provided to ensure patient care is seamless.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical reception is desirable, but customer service or administration work is acceptable.
• Ability to welcome people, learn new systems and keep things running smoothly.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and reliability.
• Comfort with computer systems; Best Practice experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
• Managing appointment bookings and patient enquiries.
• Answering calls and managing emails and correspondence.
• Processing payments, billing and receipting, including Medicare, DVA and third-party accounts.
• Maintaining accurate patient details and records.
• Working with medical, nursing and allied health teams.
• Scanning, filing, data entry and general administration.
• Keeping reception tidy and organised.
• Performing ECGs following full training and with clinical team support.
