Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician at Campbelltown Hospital to join a newly redeveloped laboratory. The role spans Transfusion Services, Haematology, Morphology, Chemistry and Point of Care Testing, contributing to high-quality patient care with every sample processed.

The successful candidate will perform routine and automated tests, manage materials and maintain equipment, and work across multiple disciplines within a modern lab, on a 24/7 rotating roster.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services across a discipline relevant to the department
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a multi-disciplinary lab
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends, nights and on-call

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) following established methods
• Undertake duties including preparation of materials and equipment maintenance according to laboratory processes
• Support timely and accurate pathology services across Transfusion, Haematology, Morphology, Chemistry and Urine Microscopy
