Job summary

Automation & Robotic Technologies in Bayswater, Melbourne, is seeking a Mechatronic Field Service Engineer to service state-wide automation and robotic systems. You will perform on-site diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs, while advising customers and training operators.

Travel to customer sites is required; you will work closely with the engineering team to implement improvements and document service history.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronic, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Mechatronic Field Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostics and repair skills.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, drives and control systems programming.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Job description

As a Mechatronic Field Service Engineer at Automation & Robotic Technologies, you will play a vital role in providing expert technical support and maintenance services for our cutting-edge industrial automation and robotic systems across Victoria, and other States in Australia. This full-time position is based in our Bayswater office, with the opportunity to travel to customer sites as needed.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair of complex mechatronic systems and equipment

• Liaise with customers to understand requirements, provide technical advice and recommendations

What we're looking for

• Degree in Mechatronic, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Mechatronic Field Service Engineer or similar role
• Proven track record of fault-finding, diagnostics and repair of industrial automation equipment
• Strong working knowledge of PLC, HMI, drives and control systems programming
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver exceptional service
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required
