Job summary

Automation & Robotic Technologies in Bayswater, Melbourne, is seeking a Mechatronic Field Service Engineer to service state-wide automation and robotic systems. You will perform on-site diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs, while advising customers and training operators.

Travel to customer sites is required; you will work closely with the engineering team to implement improvements and document service history.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechatronic, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
3–5 years of experience as a Mechatronic Field Service Engineer or similar.
Strong fault-finding, diagnostics and repair skills.
Experience with PLC, HMI, drives and control systems programming.
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

Conduct on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair of complex mechatronic systems and equipment.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal performance.
Liaise with customers to understand requirements and provide technical advice.
Document all work completed and maintain detailed records of service history.
Support the implementation of new automation equipment and provide training to customer operators and technicians.
Work closely with the engineering team to identify opportunities for system improvements.
