Job summary

Transit Systems NSW Burwood Depot is seeking a hands-on assistant to support mechanics in heavy vehicle servicing and general workshop duties. You will help with repairs, tyre changes, and maintain a clean, safe work environment, while developing practical workshop skills.

Successful candidates will have previous workshop experience, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, and a proactive, self-motivated approach. Forklift certification is desirable, and basic data-entry skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance workshop experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and develop.
• Be self-motivated.
• Forklift certificate (desirable).
• Computer literate basic keyboard skills and data entry.
• Understand spare part management.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics carrying out heavy vehicle servicing and repairs.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Remove and replace tyres.
• Conduct general workshop cleanliness, tidiness and litter management.
