Transport for NSW is seeking a qualified mechanical tradesperson ready to step into a team leadership role at the Narrandera depot. You will supervise tradespersons, oversee maintenance and repairs on heavy plant and vehicles, and ensure WHS and quality objectives are met.

The role involves occasional after-hours work and statewide travel, with a 9-day fortnight and four weeks of annual leave. A valid NSW MV licence, White Card, and AIS/HVIS ticket are advantageous.

Qualifikationen

• Extended experience and understanding in mechanical trades involving installation, maintenance, repairs, commissioning, and modification of complex machinery driven by hydraulic/pneumatic principles.

Aufgaben

• Supervise a team of tradespersons to maintain heavy vehicle plant and equipment safely.
• Lead a small crew undertaking maintenance and repairs on plant items, vehicles and mechanical equipment.
• Ensure WHS Standards and quality objectives are achieved.
• Facilitate team meetings, processes and encourage engagement and improvement suggestions.
• Manage short-term planning and administration of workshop management system.
• Support the workshop supervisor with day-to-day operations.
• Handle basic problem evaluation and continuous improvement processes.
• Resolve conflicts and develop the team while ensuring equity.
• Oversee ordering of materials and record keeping.
• Perform WHS inspections and travel as required.
