Job summary

Australian Meat Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support, maintain and improve mechanical systems across our meat processing facilities. You will work with Mechanical Engineers and Technologists to ensure safety and efficiency in operation and compliance with regulations.

You will contribute to development, testing and improvement of equipment, supporting production reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or in a similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment and plant operations.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, plans and technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with installation, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
• Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork with engineers and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on mechanical support for installation, maintenance and optimisation.
• Perform testing and data analysis to inform engineering decisions.
• Coordinate inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with standards, specs and safety requirements.
• Contribute to improvements in plant efficiency and reliability.
