Job summary

Hydro Tasmania in Tasmania invites a Mechanical Supervisor to lead field crews across major maintenance outages. Based from the Derwent Region, you will supervise activities at hydro generation sites, mentor technicians and ensure safe, on-time delivery of outage work, while coordinating with Site Managers and SAP reporting.

The role requires a Certificate III Mechanical Trade, a current driver’s licence, and proven leadership with industrial mechanical equipment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Mechanical Trade qualification is required.
• Current driver's licence is required.
• Experience maintaining industrial mechanical equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience supervising crews or contractors.
• Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

• Review and maintain mechanical inspection and quality documentation.
• Drive risk management, SWMS reviews and safety compliance.

• Manage work orders, reporting and maintenance records in SAP.

About The Role

Based from the Derwent Region, this role sits within our Major Maintenance Team and supports the planning and delivery of major maintenance outages across Hydro Tasmania's generation assets.

Travelling statewide and working closely with one of four Site Managers, you'll lead crews and contractors in the field, providing day-to-day supervision, safety leadership and technical guidance to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Reporting to the Supervisor Major Maintenance, you'll mentor technicians and apprentices and work closely with operational, technical and contractor stakeholders to deliver successful outage outcomes.

Salary range $96,400 – $118,561 plus super OT and allowances.

• Dogman/Rigger qualification, PIC authorisation, Confined Space or First Aid training desirable.
