Hydro Tasmania's Tamar Valley Power Station is seeking a hands-on Operator to monitor, operate and optimise CCGT, OCGT and HRSG systems on a 24/7 roster. Based at Tamar Valley, you will lead safe, reliable generation and mentor colleagues.
You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, coordinate contractors and maintain operational logs while upholding WHS standards. A Certificate IV in Generation and turbine/boiler competency are expected, with HV switching and generator control
You will play a hands‑on operational role in the safe, reliable and efficient running of Tamar Valley Power Station's generation assets across CCGT, OCGT and Balance of Plant systems. Working on a 24/7 roster, you will monitor, operate and optimise plant performance, support and mentor team members, and contribute to the delivery of reliable energy for Tasmania as part of Hydro Tasmania's broader asset fleet. The role is based at AETV's Tamar Valley operations.
$103,846 – $115,382 plus super
The Tamar Valley Power Station was originally commissioned by Aurora Energy in 2009 and acquired by AETV Pty Ltd (AETV) in June 2013 as a subsidiary company of Hydro Tasmania. The 386 MW station comprises 208 MW of Combined Cycle Gas generation (CCGT) and 178 MW of Open Cycle Gas generation (OCGT).
