Hinchinbrook Shire Council is seeking an experienced Mechanical Pump Fitter to maintain, repair and troubleshoot critical water and wastewater infrastructure across treatment plants and pump stations. The role is hands-on, requiring fault-finding skills, adherence to WHS, and proactive maintenance planning to keep assets operating reliably.

Qualifikationen

• Trade qualification as Fitter/Turner or equivalent recognised qualification
• Experience maintaining mechanical assets in water/wastewater environments
• Current Queensland C-class driver’s licence
• Strong WHS understanding in plant environments

Aufgaben

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair pumps, generators and mechanical equipment across water and wastewater facilities
• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance to support reliable services
• Inspect, service and overhaul submersible pumps, valves and pipelines
• Diagnose faults and respond to breakdowns to minimise service interruptions
• Assist with installation, commissioning and upgrade of critical assets
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to an apprentice in a practical trade environment
